    Parts of the Physics Today web site are free to all visitors. These articles are indicated in the magazine print edition with a "free" icon while access to job advertisements and the online departments are free to all visitors.

    To comment on any article, a visitor must register on the site. Registration is free but requires a valid email address.

    Access to the full editorial content of Physics Today requires a subscription to the magazine through membership of the societies affiliated with the American Institute of Physics or directly with Physics Today.

    How do I cite a Physics Today article?

    In the magazine, a citation for a Physics Today article is done on the basis of month, year, page number. For example, PHYSICS TODAY, April 2002, page 27. A permenant link using the articles DOI is also available. Standardized citations in other publication should use the volume/issue/page number layout used on the Web site, that is, PHYSICS TODAY Vol. 55 issue 4, page 40.

    What is the circulation/readership of Physics Today magazine?

    Our readership spans the globe. We can be found in the libraries of most universities and other research institutes. More than 125,000 readers receive Physics Today as a benefit of their membership in one of the 10 member societies of AIP. Individual subscriptions are also available.

    What is Physics Today's ISSN number?

    Physics Today has two ISSN numbers: ISSN 0031-9228 for print and ISSN 1945-0699 for online.
