Current comments and reminiscences on Evan O'Neill Kane:

I remember fondly many interactions both scientific and cultural with Evan during our years at Bell Labs together. He was a great mentor that helped shape not only my own career but that of many other younger colleagues. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

I never met Evan Kane but am a great admirer of his papers on tunneling and k.p theory. I am proud to note that the tunneling work was done at Hughes Research Laboratories, where he began his career. I have humbly tried to follow in his footsteps at the same location.
