Current comments and reminiscences on Harrold Brook Knowles:Brook Knowles was an outstanding lecturer. On March 1, 1976, he wore a leek to his undergraduate E&M class at Washington State University: ostensibly in honor of St. Davids Day. He felt this behavior was sufficiently unusual to prevent him from being considered for the department chair, which had recently been vacated. Devoted to teaching and research, he wanted to leave no question about his lack of interest in administration. His students remember him fondly. Stephen Langford |
